Training Martial Arts At Home During COVID-19w

In life, there are many unexpected situations that may present itself that can change the way we live. We can choose to adapt or fold depending on the circumstances. During these difficult times where parents & students aren't able to take their children to their Mixed Martial Arts classes, there are ways to maintain & improve on some training you have learned at the American Karate Institute.
Tips for In-Home Martial Arts Training
Our student portal is a beacon of resource for all of our students & parents who attend our mma school. There, our kids, teens & adults can go over instructional & belt testing videos to maintain proper martial arts technique and to maintain a certain level of readiness. When practicing our punching or kicking drills, it's important to use a mirror to evaluate your stance and self correct any errors with your posture. Go over any current or prior martial arts techniques you've learned and try perfecting it. Dont be shy in asking a parent or sibling to assist you, they want you to succeed as much as we do!
It's vital that you maintain active while at home during the next several weeks & practice the martial arts drills that you've been accustomed in doing everyday at AKI. Make sure to follow up with key stretches before you perform any martial arts moves to avoid injury. Parents can help their children go over punching, kicking & grappling techniques by using information provided in prior tip testing. This will ensure when the American Karate Institute resumes its daily curriculum, students will feel like they are prepared & ready for the mma training that is to come.
Staying Healthy
We know being home everyday can be a burden on your mind and body, but thats only if you allow it to be. Eat fiber rich foods, healthy proteins and drink plenty of water. Take care of your body, being that it's the only one you will ever have. Parents, make sure your child performs high cardio activities such as running, swimming or sports. Practice breathing techniques, which solidifies a healthy cardiovascular system. There are countless resources online that will ensure you and your family can stay mentally and physically healthy during these times of uncertainty.
